Showcasing Entrepreneurial Expertise on The Blox
Our very own Joe is set to demonstrate his entrepreneurial prowess on the national stage as he competes in the upcoming season of The Blox. (See recent feature in Gulfshore Business!)
Described as Shark Tank meets The Apprentice, The Blox is an innovative and rigorous competition show for entrepreneurs of startup companies nationwide – at any stage and from any industry. Nugent’s selection among 115 participants from a pool of approximately 40,000 applicants highlights his entrepreneurial acumen and drive, as well as his charismatic and energetic presence.
“Competing on The Blox has been an incredible journey. The challenges were intense, but they pushed me to grow and adapt in ways I never imagined,” said Joe Nugent. “I’m excited for viewers to see the hard work and dedication that everyone brought to the table – and how I did in the competition!”
Filmed in Tulsa at the end of February, season 13 will begin streaming online on Sept. 1. The Blox participants compete in a week-long boot camp that includes various exercises, pitches, and tests focused on entrepreneurial themes such as fundraising, growth hacking, and inbound marketing.
Each morning kicks off with in-depth business classes, giving viewers a front-row seat to the strategies and insights the contestants will need to tackle the day’s obstacles. From there, they plunge into real-world challenges among small groups, pitching ideas, applying what they’ve learned, and competing in a test of innovation and resilience.
The day concludes with a “Blox-Off,” where the top contenders go head-to-head in intense, high-stakes showdowns. In real-time, the entrepreneurs are ranked from first to last, with the top three earning the chance to wear the iconic red Blox jerseys.
Following the show, participants continue to receive world-class coaching at an accelerated pace and opportunities to network with like-minded professionals to continue perfecting their businesses.
“It’s been incredible coming back to work after the show finished and applying new ideas and principles into my company,” said Nugent. “First and foremost, I wanted this experience to help push me to new levels of entrepreneurship and to inspire my team to think outside the box. The knowledge and skills I gained from The Blox have already started to make a significant impact on our operations and growth. I’m excited for our clients to benefit from these innovations and to see where this journey takes us next.”
The Blox series was founded in 2019 by entrepreneur, producer, actor, and reality star Wes Bergmann. Check out The Blox to see how far Nugent goes in the competition.
